Semi-Husked Coconuts
Origin and Quality
North Sulawesi, known for its fertile soil and ideal climate, is a prime region for coconut cultivation. The semi-husked coconuts from this area are handpicked directly from the finest coconut trees, ensuring they are of the highest quality and freshness.
Characteristic
Husk Type: Semi-husked coconuts have the fibers partially peeled off, but the husk is left intact over the “eyes” of the coconut. This protects the sensitive area and increases the shelf life of the coconut.
Size and Weight: These coconuts typically weigh between 700 grams to 1.4 kilograms per piece, with diameters ranging from 35 to 45 cm.
Maturity: The coconuts are fully matured, with a maturity rate of around 97%.
Color: They have a natural brown color, both in the shell and the husk

Culinary and Nutritional Values
Flavor and Aroma: Semi-husked coconuts are renowned for their distinct flavor and the goodness of fresh coconut water. They are widely used in bakery, confectionery, and other food and beverage products.
Nutritional Content: The coconut meat is rich in essential vitamins, minerals, iron, potassium, and protein. It also contains saturated fat, which is unusual for fruits and vegetables.
Shelf Life and Storage
Shelf Life: Semi-husked coconuts have a longer shelf life compared to fully husked ones because the husk over the eyes protects the coconut from decay. They can be stored for up to 40 days.
Storage: To maintain freshness, they should be stored in a cool, dry place or refrigerated for longer storage.
Sustainability and Production
Sustainable Practices: The coconuts are procured from trees grown on fertile soil, free from diseases and pest attacks, and without the use of harmful fertilizers or pesticides.
Community Support: The production and export of these coconuts support local communities and contribute to the local economy.
